” I’m sorry for the long post I’m about to embark on but I’ve got a story to share with future brides. I got engaged in January of 2015 and we obviously were super excited. A couple of months later we decided to window shop around the mall and we came across a wedding gown store and we thought, “hey why not, let’s just look.” No intention of trying on yet, but just to look and enjoy starting the wedding process. We were approached by a woman who was a dress consultant and she quickly asked why I was there. Happily I explained that we were just looking at the dresses and no desire to try on yet. She looked me up and down and said, “well, I suggest you go down to our other location that has a “diva” section because these are sample sizes and you won’t be able to fit into them.” We were floored. I’m 5’4 and 160lbs (size 10/12) and I was under no knowledge that I needed a special store to fit my body. I ran out of there humiliated and defeated of ever trying on a gown, ever. Fast forward to a few months later, my fiancé gave me the courage to try again to look at dresses for real this time. That’s where Winnie Couture in Dallas stepped in and took this scared bride under their wing. With champagne flowing and joy in their words they made sure my experience was stellar. They made me feel beautiful in every gown I tried on, especially when I found “the one”. They shared tears with me as I stared at myself in the mirror and realized I was going to be a beautiful bride. Even employees that weren’t there that day know my name even before I knew theirs. I’ve had a couple of days where I get nervous if my dress would look good on me and those girls have reassured me with grace and love that it’s going to be ok. Thank y’all for being so sweet. “
